Installing your printer

Note:
Going forward the instructions should be the same for all Windows operating systems but these screenshots are from Windows 8.1

Now that we have the 'Devices and Printers' folder open, you may see your printer installed, if you do not as shown below, simply unplug your device and plug it back into your PC

Windows plug and play will detect the device and install it for you automatically

Once your printer appears, right click and select 'Printer Properties'

The following window will appear, click on the 'Sharing' tab at the top

Click on the checkbox next to 'Share this printer'
In the box below, type in your share name, we typically just type in: Receipt
Be sure to take note of your printer share name as we will need this for Cashier Live
Click 'Apply' and 'Ok' when done
The window should now close automatically

You will now see a share icon on your printer

Configure Printer with Cashier Live

Now all you need to do to get your printer to communicate with Cashier Live is to log in as the administrator of the account:
https://ww2.cashierlive.com/cashregister2/login.aspx
If you are on the 'Cashier' tab after logging in, click on the 'Settings' tab at the bottom left
You should now be on the company settings page
Click on 'Edit' next to the register you are using

Click the drop down menu under the 'Printer' section and choose Star TSP
In the field below, type in \\\\\YOURCOMPUTERNAME\\PRINTERSHARENAME
So in our example, our computer's name is Classic-PC and our printer share name is Receipt so we type this as: \\\\\Classic-PC\\Receipt

If you have a cash drawer connected to your printer, click on the drop down under 'Cash Drawer' and select 'MMF'

To test your printer settings, click on the 'TEST' next to Star TSP
A test page should pop out of your receipt printer

To test the cash drawer, click on the 'TEST' next to MMF
Your drawer should now pop open
