to get some information first
Windows 7 Users
Click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of the screen
Next, right-click 'Computer' and select 'Properties'
After clicking on 'Properties' a new window will open up
Take note of your System Type, this is either 32 or 64 bit
Take note of your Computer name, we will need this for later
In this example, you can see that we are on Windows 7 64-bit with the PC name of CashierLive
Windows 8/8.1 Users
Right click on the Windows Iconon the bottom left corner of your screen
A menu will pop up, click on 'File Explorer'
Once File Explorer is open, right click on 'This PC' in the panel on the left side of the screen
Once you right click a menu drop down will appear, click on 'Properties'
After clicking on 'Properties' a new window will open up
Take note of your System Type, this is either 32 or 64 bit
Take note of your Computer name, we will need this for later
In this example, you can see that we are on Windows 8.1 64-bit with the PC name of Classic-PC
Windows 10 Users
Click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of the screen
Next, click on 'File Explorer'
The 'File Explorer' window should now be open
Right click 'This PC', select 'Properties'
After clicking on 'Properties' a new window will open up
Take note of your System Type, this is either 32 or 64 bit
Take note of your Computer name, we will need this for later
In this example, you can see that we are on Windows 10 64-bit with the PC name of CashierLive-PC
Now that we have the information that we need, we will need to download and install the printer driver
Download and Save Printer Driver
If you have a CD, you can install the drivers from the disk
If you do not have a CD, you can download the driver for your Star TSP 100 USB printer from https://ww2.cashierlive.com/drivers
Click on 'Star Printer - TSP100' on the left side
A dialogue box will open click on 'Save As'
The 'Save As' window will open, navigate to where you want to save the download to and click 'Save'
After the file has finished downloading, click on 'Open'
The StarTSP100 folder will now open, click on 'Installer'
This is where you will need to reference which System Type you have, 32-bit or 64-bit
For 32-bit machines, click on the top file
For 64-bit machines, click on the bottom file
In this example, we are installing the 64-bit file
Click 'Run' on the dialogue box that appears
The installer should now open, click 'Next'
Click 'Next'
Click 'Next'
Click 'Install'
Let the program install the driver
Click on 'Finish' when the installer has completed
Now that the printer driver has been successfully installed, we will need to install the printer from Windows
Open the Devices and Printers window from the Control Panel
Windows 7 Users
Windows 8/8.1
Windows 10 Users
Installing your printer
Note: Going forward the instructions should be the same for all Windows operating systems but these screenshots are from Windows 8.1
Now that we have the 'Devices and Printers' folder open, you may see your printer installed, if you do not as shown below, simply unplug your device and plug it back into your PC
Windows plug and play will detect the device and install it for you automatically
Once your printer appears, right click and select 'Printer Properties'
The following window will appear, click on the 'Sharing' tab at the top
Click on the checkbox next to 'Share this printer'
In the box below, type in your share name, we typically just type in: Receipt
Be sure to take note of your printer share name as we will need this for Cashier Live
Click 'Apply' and 'Ok' when done
The window should now close automatically
You will now see a share icon on your printer
Configure Printer with Cashier Live
Now all you need to do to get your printer to communicate with Cashier Live is to log in as the administrator of the account:

If you are on the 'Cashier' tab after logging in, click on the 'Settings' tab at the bottom left
You should now be on the company settings page
Click on 'Edit' next to the register you are using
Click the drop down menu under the 'Printer' section and choose Star TSP
In the field below, type in \\YOURCOMPUTERNAME\PRINTERSHARENAME
So in our example, our computer's name is Classic-PC and our printer share name is Receipt so we type this as: \\Classic-PC\Receipt
If you have a cash drawer connected to your printer, click on the drop down under 'Cash Drawer' and select 'MMF'
To test your printer settings, click on the 'TEST' next to Star TSP
A test page should pop out of your receipt printer
To test the cash drawer, click on the 'TEST' next to MMF
Your drawer should now pop open
That's it! You've successfully installed and configured your Star TSP 100 Receipt Printer with CashierLive.
